My life work is to join you on your journey as you come back into optimal wholeness in mind, body, & spirit using traditional folk healing modalities. As a folk doctor, I use techniques such as massage & manual therapy, acupressure, cupping, plant medicine, yoga, frequencies, chakra balancing, aromatherapy, emotional release, quantum physics, and flower essences.
My personal journey began when I was young and found myself in several auto accidents, a few minor surgeries, and I felt traumatized and disempowered in my own healing. I didn’t have access to the healing I needed, and I knew I must learn how to heal myself in a way that also nourished my spirit. I became a certified herbalist through The Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in Boulder, Colorado, and continued with an apprenticeship with Matthew Wood, who showed me to be a healer using the inner knowledge living within each of us. I became a licensed massage and manual therapist, and certified acupuncturist at The Blue Heron Academy in Western Michigan, in order to work with the structure, connective tissues, and meridians of the body in the journey towards overall wellness.
Our bodies and our minds are deeply interconnected, with the stress from our everyday lives playing a major part in our physical pain and dis-ease. Our own neural pathways formed through experience, often becoming the source of our internal anxiety, depression, and pain. I’m searching for wellness, and the map to getting there looks different for everyone. As a folk doctor, my goal is to teach, share, and learn a way of reclaiming our personal and collective health for our future as a community.
